New Hampshire still remains the 1st in the nation State for the Primary Vote.Although many states have upped their Primary dates, NH has held to the earliest primary date to hold on to their tradition. The Republican race as of this writing date has Romney with a double digit lead over Giuliani and McCain moving up into 3rd place. The Democrats however have seen Hillary’s lead slip from a 30 point lead to a 1 point lead in just a 3 week period.Obama kept away from negative campaigning and it bolstered his ratings. In Hillary’s camp there were a number of rumors and leaks of negative reports about Obama .Although Hillary never admitted knowing of or authorizing the leaking of negative stories to the press or the internet. Some of the stories that hit the news were:1 -A story was put out criticizing Obama for writing essays about being President in Kinder garden .2-Another story was leaked was that Obama was a Radical Muslim and learned that from his father.3-The lowest blow was that Obama had used drugs in High school and maybe he could have sold drugs.None of the stories were proven true and Hillary actually denounced her campaign people that were responsible for leaking these stories. One thing that bolstered Obama’s support was Oprah going on the campaign trail with Obama in early December.Hillary’s slide in the lead appeared to start by a bad showing in the last New Hampshire debate in early December.Hillary stammered on a question concerning issuing drivers licenses to illegal aliens and she indicated that she though the New York’s governor’s idea to issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens to keep control and track them since there was no way to keep them out of the state. She also lost ground by not guaranteeing that she would get all the troops home before the end of her second term. The other factor that showed Hillary has deep concerns in the tight race was that she had to get Bill Clinton to start campaigning full time on the road for Hillary as a last ditch effort to gain votes. In summary with a surge in Obama’s numbers to 31% and a decline in Hillary’s numbers to 32% this race is shaping up to be a real race to the finish and may come down to the last couple hours of the vote counting on Primary Day.What are your thoughts on the race and the strategy being use by the candidates ?
